Ethan of Athos

Ethan is a doctor in a planet called Athos, a planet where only men live and are born, but as it is easy to predict whithin a number of generations, their female cells stock has arrived to its use limit, so they need to buy new cells to reproduce themselves.

And here the problem arrives as their provider sends them no female cells but empty boxes and some cow meat.

So, they find Ethos to ask their provider to solve the mistake or buy a new stock from a better supplier.

There's only one ship a year which comes and go to Athos which is far away from everywhere else in the universe, as their need to not be near women...

Ethan has to fight his fright at the moment he meets a woman, who saves him from the Cetagandan gemlord who has kipnapped him thinking the stock has arrived Athos, it seems that the cell stock has been a valuous material from Cetaganda.

This Vorkosigan saga novel is not a Miles adventure, but it is a good book and as always there's a lot of action and philosophical questions which we find in the book.

Starsight by Brandon Sanderson

The second book of Spin's adventures moves us from Detritus to Starsight, a place where the Krell have a starbase where lots of space species live and where some pilots from less developed species are recruited to train them to fight the delvers.

There Spin sees that the enemy is not an evil civilization, she makes new friends and learns that the population there is like in any other place, the problem is like everywhere the lust for power that some people have, in this case the humans in Detritus are used as a way to play that fight for power in the Superiority, both to scare their people as to try to find a new way to maintain the long range flight monopoly that the Superiority uses to submit the other planets.

Legion: Skin deep

Well... I wasn't going to read this book this week, but my Kindle had the wrong Orson Scott Card book so this was a short book that saved the day, the weekend in fact.

A new adventure of the man with his multiple imaginary personalities, in this case the research of a body of a scientist dead in a ski accident, who was studiing who to store data in our DNA so we would not need electronical devices.

Easy and quick read.

Skyward by Brandon Sanderson

As I love science fiction, this book has given me a very good experience.

Spin is a girl whose father died in a great battle but as a coward, she doesn't believe it and studies hard to become a pilot and show everyone his father was not a cowart.

From this, we follow her life as she tries to pass the test and how difficult is for her to become a pilot, as his father's history makes people look her...
