Bullshit jobs by David Graeber

As a bullshit job owner for most of my life... well, not really bullshit but bullshit hours spent in an office pretending to work when the job was already done, but they'd always needed me to do that kind of jobs that need to be done but they don't know how long will it take and when it will be needed some fix, and thankfully, remote working has solved part of the problem, as I don't have to loose 3 hours a day commuting in a train and having lunch in the office or in a restaurant.

The book explains why there are so many bullshit jobs and many people explain their own cases of this kind of job.

Vorkosigan Saga: Diplomatic inmunity

Travelling home from his long honeymoon, Miles has to make an urgent mission in the quaddies station, Graf Station, the first book a red of this saga was the history of how the quaddies freed themselves.

In the station he founds his old mercenary's friend Bel Thorne, the betan hermaphrodite who helps him again to solve this problem, not with big problems for their both's health.

A Cetagandan renegade almost starts a war which both Miles and Ekaterin will, witfully and for the good of their unborn children, which were in the uterine replicators at home, end with a ceremony in the Cetagandan capital.

Vorkosigan Saga: A Civil Campaign

No space travel in this book. Back home Miles tries to seduce Ekaterin the widow he knew in the previous book.

He's engaged in the Emperor's wedding comitee as his first trustee or whatever is the name for that.

Mark has returned from Beta where he's been Kareen's Koudelka lover, in his empreneurship he brings back a Escobaran cientist who has created a type of bugs that create a wonderful butter which he pretends to sell all over the human worlds.

And with this three premises, Gregor's wedding, Miles in love and Mark in enterprise and love, the book has all kind of soap opera situations that of course will end lovely for all of them, and not well to the bad fellows in the story....

And Ivan... well more soap opera with one of her former lovers returned from Beta with a genetical treatment and converted to a broad man.

The end of the first arch, lots of action, more knowledge about the powers/gods, the main characters evolving and finding their purposes.

Dalinar, Shallan, Navani, Adolin, Rlain and by mistake Gavinor, travel to the Spiritual Realm, where Dalinar will try to get the power of Honor to be able to fight Odium in equal conditions, he will lead all of them through the real history of the Heralds and what lead them to betray Honor. Shallan, Adolin and Rlain will try to find where is Ba-Ado-Mishram is inprisoned before the Ghostbloods do it.

But as the first Radiant words say... Way before destination, all of them evolve, including Lyft who finally wants to grow. Ghostblood itself evolves!

Well, now there will be sometime before we have new books from Roshar.

Makers by Cory Doctorow

As I red Little Brother many years ago and it was a good read, I've read sometimes blog entries from him and wondering what to read next I remembered that he had more books.

So I gave it a try, the book is what we can expect, interesting and showing a future that can or cannot be... but could be.

In this case it starts with the New Work as the way to solve economy from the crash of the it dominance. Recycling things and new inventors, hackers of things.
